She paints rainbows because her Creator is an artist and she was made in His image…

She paints rainbows as an expression of who she is in Him…

She paints rainbows because the Holy Spirit dwells within her sweet soul…

She paints rainbows because Love looks to pour Itself out on those around her if they will choose to see it…

She paints rainbows to reflect the Glory of God…

She paints rainbows because God’s Grace spills out of her…

She paints rainbows for me to see Jesus and for Jesus to remind me that He sees me…

We are all artists in some form or another because we were made in the image of the Artist…

Our art matters because it reflects the love of God to those that see it and the ones that see it are the ones that God puts in our path…

The Artist puts people in our path so that He can speak life into them through us….

She paints rainbows because she allows the art to flow out of her freely – no fear, no second-guessing, no overthinking…

My art is scared – scared of being wrong – scared of being ridiculed – scared of being hypocritical – scared of serving the wrong motives – scared of being vulnerable…

My art is scared that it “isn’t enough” – scared that it’s “not worthy”….scared that it’s “less than”…

But the Artist doesn’t paint fear into our lives…

For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7

The Artist paints power, love, and discipline so that we will create art that reflects this truth to others….

When we hide our art, we hide the Artist’s message of Hope, Healing, Love, and Salvation – the message that someone in our little world needs like they need air to fill their lungs…

When I hide my art, I deny someone the message that the Lover of Souls has for them…

She paints rainbows to show me how to let my art flow freely…

She paints rainbows because through her God tells me that it’s okay to let go and trust Him with my art…

She paints rainbows because she is fearless…

I want to be fearless too…

In-home, lifestyle newborn photography is getting to be my favorite sessions. There is something so perfect about capturing photographs of a family in the place that they are most comfortable…their home. I find that moms and dads are able to take a deep breath and just be themselves in these sessions which always results in the best (most real) images. Kids are in their familiar territory and tend to just be themselves. The in-home, lifestyle newborn sessions are especially close to my heart…bringing home a new baby is one of the most memorable experiences that parents will ever have. Those first few days are magical, spiritual, beautiful, chaotic, exhausting, and full of a love that you can’t quantify for someone that you just met.

Here are a few photos from a recent lifestyle, newborn photo session that I did with the Stout family. If you would like to book a session, please contact me.

The weather for his session was amazing! Fog, storm clouds, a little bit of rain, and at the end a gorgeous sunset.

This beautiful family radiates happiness, don’t you think? Including husbands and siblings into maternity sessions is so important.  A growing family is a beautiful one and even though it’s all about the belly during maternity sessions, I also want to focus on the love between parents and the excitement of new big brothers! I can’t wait to meet Maddox in a few weeks for his in-home, lifestyle, newborn session.

Our summer travels included a trip to see Grandma in Branson, Missouri. We visited Top of the Rock for a spectacular view of God’s sunset and checked out the little chapel at the top. So gorgeous! The Branson area really is beautiful – the landscape is green with lush, tall trees and winding roads. It’s not hard to find a quiet spot to enjoy the sun rising or setting. Living in the big city of San Antonio, I never realize how much I miss the green landscape and the ability to see the sun fall below the horizon until I spend some time in Missouri. Our souls need that quiet tranquility to recharge, reflect, and breathe in the peace that comes with appreciating God’s incredible artistry. Watching the sun drift down from the clouds to meet the horizon, brings about a feeling of gratitude for the life and the family that I’ve been given.

{Meet Leighton Harper}

I paid sweet Leighton a visit at Methodist Hospital in downtown San Antonio for her Fresh 48 Newborn Photography session couple of weeks ago. She couldn’t be more precious and I can’t wait for her in-home newborn session. All the gifts that God gives us are so amazing, but new life has to be one of the most generous and undeserved gifts that He gives.
