Zach l San Antonio Child Photographer, San Antonio Family Photographer

It seems like yesterday we were having our first day of preschool and now he is a teenager…a full fledged teenager. Ready or not, the teen years are here and for the record, I am not ready. He is. I am not. Since we have entered the teen realm this year, we had to step it up for his pictures. He didn’t want country or flowers…he wanted something a little edgy-er.

As kids go, Zach is pretty darn awesome. He is funny, laid back, easy going, kind, generous, soft hearted, and a people-pleaser. He wants everyone around him to be happy…he wants the world to be fed and clothed…and he wants to makes a difference even if it is a small. He still has that sweet child-like innocence that I hope he can keep forever. It is part of what makes Zach, Zach.

He is an A-B Honor Roll student. In fact, getting a 90 in a class brings on the same reaction that he has to eating cooked spinach. I have to remind him that getting a B or a “low” A is absolutely okay…it just means he’s human like the rest of us. At home, he is a great help…he can unload and reload a dishwasher in 15 minutes flat. All kidding aside, he helps around the house and with his younger siblings and our family wouldn’t function properly without him. Zach has a great attitude and willingness to help (in lots of different ways) that is unique.

Zach has a big heart too. For a kid that doesn’t have a job and gets his money by earning it for good grades, he has given countless times to help feed people that have nothing to eat or buy gifts for children that would go without at the holidays. He doesn’t do these things because of prompting from me…he comes to me and says “I want to help…” He cares about others and gives generously…

Zach is a Lego builder extraordinaire and a lover all things fitting in the category of gadget. I think he might have 10,000 Lego’s in his room…I am not joking or over exaggerating. This boy can build! When he isn’t building, he is on his iPhone, his DSi, or one of his other gadget’s or gizmo’s. He is scary good at knowing all there is to know about these devices and finding things that are hidden to the rest of us mere mortal electronic users.

Zach loves going to church and is active in the student group. He also loves going to STAND at school…(a Christian group sponsored by one of the teachers). He loves movies, music, video games, and candy. Unfortunately for Zach, candy is like kryptonite to Superman for him…he has had more time in the dentist chair than any kid I know. Just thinking about candy seems to bring on a cavity.

So, that is Zach…he is 13…and I am blessed. Just so you know, I got him to agree to live with me until he is 25 and then he can move next door and come over for dinner every night. He better uphold his end of the bargain! 🙂
