Maddy was a sweet, little chicken…she shook her tail feathers and clucked upon request…

Joshua was a pirate this year…complete with scary pirate noises, sword fights,  and promises of making people “walk the plank”…love that boy and his imagination. family photography san antonio

We had to make a pit stop at home about mid-way through trick-or-treating to dump out all the candy they had gotten. Maddy got to a point where she couldn’t even carry her pumpkin bucket anymore…”too heaby (heavy) mama”…”you carwie (carry) it”…people were dumping handfuls in her bucket because she was such a cutie-pie… 🙂

I had the pleasure of spending the evening with this gorgeous family recently. Little Aubriana just turned one so this family photography session centered around her…with mom, dad, and older brother sprinkled in occasionally. 🙂 She is all girl…all pink…all about tutu’s.

Anthony (aka big brother) finally got his chance in front of the camera. His smile is contagious and the sweetest thing ever…♥

With so many family sessions coming up over the next few weeks, it seemed like the right time to have a little talk about large prints. Large prints are NOT 8×10’s. Sorry, but they are not. Check out this little graphic I put together to show you the different sizes and how they relate to a normal sized couch.

The bottom row of pictures are large and more appropriate for hanging on the wall above the couch. Could you even find the 5×7 and 8×10 images without using a magnifying glass?  🙂 Don’t get me wrong…5×7’s and 8×10’s are fabulous image sizes for desks, dressers, night stands, end tables, cute frames, and the grandparents. I adore those sizes and find tons of uses for them, BUT when it comes to your walls…they don’t belong there anymore than a fish belongs on the sidewalk.

That said…you could pair up two 16×24’s with a 24×30 and create a collage of images. You might even be able to throw in some 11×14’s as fillers and create an incredible wall gallery. You could keep it simple and just do two 16×24’s also. There are so.many.options!! For more ideas on hanging your photos, check out my Hanging Photos board on Pinterest. There are about a zillion ways to hang your photos on that board!
