In-home, lifestyle newborn photography is getting to be my favorite sessions. There is something so perfect about capturing photographs of a family in the place that they are most comfortable…their home. I find that moms and dads are able to take a deep breath and just be themselves in these sessions which always results in the best (most real) images. Kids are in their familiar territory and tend to just be themselves. The in-home, lifestyle newborn sessions are especially close to my heart…bringing home a new baby is one of the most memorable experiences that parents will ever have. Those first few days are magical, spiritual, beautiful, chaotic, exhausting, and full of a love that you can’t quantify for someone that you just met.

Here are a few photos from a recent lifestyle, newborn photo session that I did with the Stout family. If you would like to book a session, please contact me.

The weather for his session was amazing! Fog, storm clouds, a little bit of rain, and at the end a gorgeous sunset.

This beautiful family radiates happiness, don’t you think? Including husbands and siblings into maternity sessions is so important.  A growing family is a beautiful one and even though it’s all about the belly during maternity sessions, I also want to focus on the love between parents and the excitement of new big brothers! I can’t wait to meet Maddox in a few weeks for his in-home, lifestyle, newborn session.

This is my second session with this family and I absolutely ADORE them. Mom and Dad have raised kind, witty, intelligent, and strong girls. Being around them, I just get the feeling that both of them will do big and beautiful things in this world. Their personalities are wrapped up in this lovely package. Deborah and Anson…thank you for allowing me the chance to spend time with you and your girls. Keep doing what you are doing….they are beautiful inside and out.

We got some chilly weather for these fall pictures. These girls are so sweet and so cute. I wanted to bring them home with me to play with my Maddy. By the end our session, they both gave me big hugs…melts a momma heart! I loved meeting and working with this family. As always, I am so thankful and humbled by the people that entrust me with their family photos. If you would like to get in front of my camera, please contact me. Spring sessions are being booked now.

A few months ago, we took the kids on a 3-day Disney cruise (our first) to the Bahamas. Oh.my.goodness….this was the best money I think I have ever spent. The accommodations…the food…the shows…the unlimited free ice cream…Disney’s island…the food…Mickey and Minnie…the staff…the kids club…the pools…the food. I think I mentioned the food more than once. 🙂 My pre-cruise efforts at losing weight suffered, but we ate well and often (read: all the time).

Joshua’s birthday fell on this weekend so he spent his 11th birthday in the Bahamas. As a stroke of good luck, Disney served BBQ ribs (his favorite meal) on his big day.

Maddy got to go to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and transform into a mermaid. Glitter, nail polish, hair accessories, and pampering…

And Zach became a world traveler and got to visit the Bahamas…a destination on his travel bucket list…

Ya’ll, Disney knows how to cruise…after most trips, we are ready to get back home and back to our routines. This was the first time, we ended a trip and felt really sad that it was over. My kids are still talking about those 3 days and wanting to know when the next Disney cruise is…

Sweet memories…
